Bent

A three-atom shape with the bonds at an angle rather than in a line. It comes from AX2E\mathrm{AX_2E} (angle just under 120°) and AX2E2\mathrm{AX_2E_2} (angle just under 109.5°).

Central O atom bonded to 2 H atoms, with 2 lone pairs.HOH109.5°Ideal bond angle: 109.5°
HX2O\ce{H2O}, AX2E2\mathrm{AX_2E_2}: H–O–H ≈ 104.5°.

Example

OX3\ce{O3} is AX2E\mathrm{AX_2E} with an angle of about 117°; HX2S\ce{H2S} and OFX2\ce{OF2} are AX2E2\mathrm{AX_2E_2}. Every bent molecule with polar bonds is polar.
